Omira

Omira is a Human nation consisting of democratic city-states within the Omiran peninsula, on the southeastern end of the Charted Lands.

For much of known history Omira was ruled over by a collective of Lich-Kings, each mantaining absolute control over the human slaves within their own city-states. Generally, their intent was that of unwavering dominance rather than conquest or expansion into new lands. Omira’s aggressive but isolationist influence hindered development of other powers in the East, while at the same time the Lich-Kings conducted trade with far-away foreign powers of the West and South. Their speech and writing system of Vernaceus saw acceptance as a trade language throughout much of their part of the world. The local language of Noic remains in regular use, as spoken amongst humans during this time.

The Lich-Kings were eventually overthrown in the uprisings known as the First Crusade, starting over two centures in the past. These were organized by an emerging cult devoted to a deity known simply as the God of Death. Some thirty years later, with Omira now in the hands of humanity in self-governance, a purge of the native demihuman races began, later known as the Enchanted War. Results of this war included the enslavement of the Halfling race and the exodus of most other ‘magical’ beings from Omira.
